When to go
The best time to hike is from July to mid-September. During these months the trail is usually snow-free, the cable cars are operating, and the lakes display their most vibrant colors.

How to get there
The hike starts in Wangs, in the canton of St. Gallen.
From the valley station, take three lifts to reach Pizolhütte, where the trail begins:
- Wangs → Furt (gondola)
- Furt → Gaffia (chairlift)
- Gaffia → Pizolhütte (chairlift)
